Karen is an experienced commercial real estate and general corporate lawyer. Her real estate practice is focused on development, leasing, financing and operations of commercial and multifamily properties, including affordable housing. Having served as in-house counsel to a national non-profit and a large Georgia housing authority, Karen is well versed on issues of corporate governance, non-profit operations, HUD-funded multifamily developments, and the training of volunteer board members in both the non-profit and government arenas. She started her career at one of the top real estate law firm practices in Atlanta and left as a young partner on a mission to “do good by lawyering well,” which led to her in-house roles. Karen is known for her experience in negotiating, drafting contracts for and closing complex commercial transactions.
She currently contracts as counsel for Krevolin & Horst with an emphasis on commercial real estate development and finance and operations including multifamily, retail, hotel, and leasing.
