About Rahul

Before joining the firm, Rahul served as an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) in the Public Integrity & Civil Rights Section at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia. In that role, Rahul represented the United States of America in affirmative civil rights cases and investigations arising under statutes like the Voting Rights Act, the Fair Housing Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. During his time as an AUSA, Rahul served on a team which investigated conditions of confinement at the Fulton County Jail and subsequently came to a historic consent decree to implement changes at the Jail.

Prior to his government service, Rahul served as Senior Voting Rights Staff Attorney at the ACLU of Georgia. In that role, he litigated cases challenging Georgia’s omnibus election law (SB202), discriminatory statewide and local redistricting maps, and absentee ballot matters. He also testified on elections-related legislation before the Georgia General Assembly.

Rahul has frequently appeared in the media to discuss election and voting related matters. He appeared on “A Closer Look with Rose Scott” on WABE, and has been quoted in outlets such as CNN, NBC, ProPublica, and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He has also traveled to the Democratic Republic of the Congo on behalf of the Atlanta-based Carter Center to help set up an electoral observation mission.

Rahul clerked for the Hon. Jill N. Parrish in the 2019-2020 term. He is fluent in Oriya, Hindi, and French. In 2019, he appeared as a contestant on Season 36 of “Jeopardy.” Rahul grew up in Marietta, Georgia, and is glad to be back in the state he calls home.
