Litigation Associate

We are a small, top flight, AV-rated firm seeking an associate with federal clerkship experience and 1-2 years of business litigation in a major firm. Our litigation practice encompasses business torts, contracts, corporate governance, employment, education, intellectual property, officer/director, qui tam, real estate, securities, shareholder disputes, trade secret, franchise litigation and white collar matters. We do serious work in a casual environment.

Top credentials necessary with a desire to flourish in a small firm environment. Associates get immediate, substantial client contact and responsibility. We do not have a minimum hourly requirement because our focus is on client service. We are driven by results and not number of hours billed.

Most of our litigators have clerked for federal judges. Most also have large firm experience with some of the most highly regarded firms in the country including King & Spalding, Fried Frank, Goodwin Proctor, and WilmerHale.  Our litigation partners are regularly recognized by Chambers USA America’s Leading Lawyers for Business; by Georgia Trend magazine as Georgia’s elite lawyers for business litigation; and by Atlanta magazine as Top 100 “Super Lawyers.”  These credentials are rare for a firm our size.

Our cases range from very small to very large. We regularly appear in court and try cases. We litigate with and against large Atlanta and national firms. We are regularly hired by other lawyers or law firms to represent their firms. This is a great opportunity for someone with the skill set and desire to learn and develop at a faster pace than at larger firms. An entrepreneurial attitude is desirable and business development is strongly encouraged and rewarded.

Legal Assistant

Krevolin & Horst is hiring two legal assistants for our litigation and corporate practices. Exceptional organizational skills. The ability to work well under pressure, handle multiple tasks, function with minimal supervision, and the ability to prioritize workload. Maintain professional appearance and demeanor when working with co-workers, clients as well as outside counsel, court clerks and Judges. Position requires excellent interpersonal skills in a polite and professional manner and an avid willingness to pitch in. Written and verbal communication skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook a must.

Requirements:

  • BOTH POSITIONS:
  • 3-5 years experience (we don’t need more than that)
  • Calendar management
  • Type 75 WPM
  • Very organized
  • Technologically savvy – above average
  • LITIGATION POSITION:
  • Extensive experience filing in State and Federal courts (e-filing as well)
  • Familiar with State and Federal Rules
  • Experience in trial prep
  • Courtroom experience a plus
  • Familiar with litigation support software packages
  • Ability to transcribe dictation
  • CORPORATE POSITION:
  • Commercial real estate experience
  • Corporate experience
  • Securities experience a plus
  • Mergers & Acquisitions
  • 8am – 5pm or 8:30am – 5:30pm

College degree or paralegal certificate and legal experience will be considered first.
